"Up for sale is a Korg RK-100. It has been sitting in a storage closet in my church for years now and has not been used in a long time. These things are increasingly becoming more rare and expensive as the years go by. There is definitely some wear on the black paint and some paint chips on the body and some of the corners. NOTE: PRETTY BEAT UP BUT WORKS PERFECTLY" eBay Link
"In very good overall condition and perfect working order, minor cosmetic marks and small modification to battery compartment to use 9V cell in place of AA cells." eBay Link
The RK-100 is a classic, genuine '80s keytar - made of wood, with simple keys and simple controls to access 8 banks of 8 patches and a couple of additional controls for pitch bend and modulation, plus octave changing. It's solid, and extremely responsive to play; no velocity or aftertouch, just straightforward fast notes.
This example, in relatively unusual red (most are black, it seems), has some minor cosmetic wear (it's nearly 30 years old) as shown in the pictures, and the battery holder has been updated to hold a single 9V battery rather than a bank of AA batteries.
All keys, buttons and controls work perfectly and there's no damage to the keys.
One strap peg has been reinforced. As the body is wood, it could potentially be customised, modified and improved in many ways." eBay Link
"This was my husband's. He has no idea if it works, because it hasn't been used in years and there is no power source for us to check with. However, it was in full effect last time it was used!" eBay Link
"There are some scratches and a chip on one of the bottom edges of the keytar." eBay Link
This instrument is a genuine fully working slice of the 80s and was manufactured around 1987.
It has some war wounds such as dinks and chips, the battery holder has gaffa on it as it is cracked but
works perfectly and cannot be seen once the batteries are loaded. This also works from a standard DC adapter
available from mosy shops. It is NON touch sensitive so more suited to 80's synths such as Juno's and korg
poly 800 types BUT works fine with modern equipment so long as the touch sensitivity is turned off
which cab be done globally on most modules or Keyboards.
Rock out with some 80's flash." eBay Link
"Korg RK-100 keytar. Everything works. Comes with strap locks, a nice strap, and an M-Audio MIDAIR wireless midi pack. Has a crack on the back of it, but it doesn't affect the integrity of the keytar. " eBay Link
